About Samantha

I believe therapy should be a place where you can show up as you are—not as the person you think you’re supposed to be.

Life can feel overwhelming when you’re constantly dealing with anxiety, stress, burnout, self-doubt, difficult relationships, or the pressure to have everything figured out. Sometimes you know exactly what’s bothering you. Other times, you just know that something doesn’t feel right. Either way, you don’t have to sort through it alone.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent five years working with high school students as both a teacher and school counselor. I had the opportunity to walk alongside teens as they navigated academic pressure, friendships and relationships, family dynamics, anxiety, self-esteem, major transitions, and the complicated process of figuring out who they are and who they want to become. Those experiences continue to shape the way I approach therapy today.

I have a particular passion for working with teens and young adults, as well as supporting parents who are trying to better understand and connect with their children. As a wife and parent myself, I also understand firsthand that adulthood can come with its own unique pressures—the mental load of managing a family, balancing relationships and responsibilities, navigating different seasons of parenting, and sometimes realizing that you’ve spent so much time taking care of everyone else that you’ve lost touch with yourself along the way.

While every person and family’s experience is different, these roles have given me a genuine appreciation for the complexities of relationships, parenting, and trying to maintain your own identity while caring for the people who matter most to you.

I also welcome adults who may be feeling overwhelmed, burned out, stuck, navigating a transition, struggling in their relationships, or simply ready for something in their lives to change.

What you can expect

My style is warm, collaborative, practical, and down-to-earth. I’m not here to sit across from you, nod, and tell you what you “should” do. I want to understand your perspective, help you recognize patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and work alongside you as you discover what works for you.

Therapy with me includes space to process the hard things, but it’s also about building skills you can actually use outside of the therapy room. Depending on your needs, I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy.

Together, we may work on understanding your emotions, challenging unhelpful thought patterns, setting healthier boundaries, strengthening coping skills, building confidence, improving relationships, and recognizing the strengths and resilience you already possess.

Most importantly, I want therapy to feel like a space where you can be honest—even when things are messy, uncomfortable, or difficult to put into words.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin. Sometimes being brave simply means deciding that you’re ready to take the next step.
